Dreams by Faye Wong
Sometimes misery can present itself as an opportunity or a means to be happy.
With that being said, one Friday afternoon I went inside a house--
Dimly lit with soggy clothes hanging off the walls,
I tried to see if someone lived in there.
Although the room looked dead,
I saw an aquarium filled with fishes swimming and wriggling in their
plastic plants, plastic stones and plastic wallpaper home.
They were evidently happy,
and so I drove a plane inside just to disrupt their little tea party
of happiness.
But my plan didn't work because they were still dancing to the music in the stereo that I chanced upon seeing.
And so I drove the plane all the way down and crashed it in the ocean,
No matter what I do they won't stop being happy.
All the grin and the guile left me when I heard the door open-
While the all of them kept wringing and prancing to the music
"ALL THE LEAVES ARE BROWN
AND THE SKY IS GRAY"
